ReFashion Lab: Pojagi Style Workshop
Saturday 20 June 2026
1 - 4pm
3 hours
This workshop introduces you to the traditional Korean patchwork technique of Pojagi. Often made with translucent fabrics, Pojagi is a beautiful and practical way to use old sheer curtains, clothes and small fabric scraps. Using hand sewn flat felled seams, you'll create a beautiful reversible piece of fabric (60cm x 50cm) that can be used on a door or window or can be the beginning of a bigger project.
No experience required! All materials are provided, but you're welcome to bring pieces of old clothing, sheer curtain or fabric pieces - light cotton or sheer, lightweight fabric is best.
Upcycle Newcastle used this technique in the creation of three of their garments in the ReFashionista 2025 event at the Museum. They will have two of these garments on display during this workshop, for you to see in detail.
Ages: Adults/late teens
Cost: $5
Bookings essential
If you have any access or inclusion needs, you will be able to advise us when booking.
