Transport

The coach drop-off and pick up point is located on Wright Lane, just off Workshop Way. Please note there are no coach parking spaces in the surrounding streets. For local groups we recommend travel on the Newcastle Light Rail. If you're from up the bay consider parking at Stockton and taking the ferry across, The Museum is about a 10 minute walk away.

Lunch area

We welcome groups to have lunch on our lovely new Museum Park or under the covered awnings at the front. An eating area can sometimes be provided within the Museum if booked in advance.

Bag storage

A limited number of bag cages and bag storage areas are available. If your group requires use of these please notify staff at the time of booking.

Photography

We have some fantastic photograph opportunities which we welcome you to take advantage of, including the towering red steelworks hooks, sitting inside the tram, and standing under the massive inflatable Earth ball. Special exhibitions or events may have photography restrictions in which case the public will be notified.

Please take care not to photograph people, especially children, who are not part of your group.
