By Car
Newcastle Museum is in the heart of Honeysuckle, Newcastle. There are many public parking options in and around Honeysuckle.
CarePark manages the Wright Lane and Throsby car parks. Those car parks have the following spaces available:
• Wright Lane Car Park – 181 spaces
• Throsby Car Park – 270 spaces (free parking on weekends)

Harbour Car Park is located in Argyle St, Newcastle. Hourly, early bird and weekend parking rates are available. See Secure Parking website for details.
All on-street parking is managed by City of Newcastle. There are also 200 car spaces at No.2 Sportsground, including six Access car parks. Download the EasyPark App to assist with paying for on-street parking in the Newcastle area. Please note the parking metres will also take coins or credit cards for payment.

By Train
Newcastle trains operate on the Sydney Trains Network. For more information please visit Transport NSW website.
Sydney and Hunter trains terminate at the Newcastle Interchange.
Newcastle Light Rail runs from Newcastle Interchange in Wickham to Newcastle Beach in the east end of Newcastle. It is a turn-up-and-go service operating from 5am to 1am, seven days a week, stopping at six locations including Civic (where you will alight for Newcastle Museum and Newcastle Beach (where you will alight for Fort Scratchley Historical Site).
Opal cards can be used on all of these services.
By Bus
Buses run along King Street and the closest bus stop to Newcastle Museum is BUS STOP 230049 (King St after Auckland St). For more information visit Newcastle Transport or call 131 500.
Disability Parking
Designated public parking spaces are available in the Wright Lane carpark for Mobility Parking Scheme permit holders. This carpark is managed by CarePark who can be contacted via email at enquiries@carepark.com.au. Web address: www.carepark.com.au

Bike hire is easy in Newcastle and is a pleasant, enjoyable and convenient way to explore the city.
