ReFashion Lab: Jeans Seams Weaving Workshop

Exploring the creative potential of old jeans, this workshop focuses on the seams and hems to create new looks to use in garments and homewares. Learn how to weave with the seams and hems - No weaving loom required!
We'll show you two techniques to create a new fabric to add to your jeans or other clothing, or to create a drink coaster and other items. No experience required! All materials are provided, but you're welcome to bring any old jeans to cut up and add to your project.
Upcycle Newcastle used this technique in the creation of two of their garments in the ReFashionista 2025 event at the Museum. These garments will be on display during this workshop, for you to see in detail.
