ReFashion Lab: Denim Flowers Workshop

Using old jeans (both blue and white), learn to make fabric flowers. For most of this workshop we’ll be using hand sewing techniques, but there will be some small amounts of machine sewing also if you choose. We’ll show you two different flower styles and you can try one of each!
No experience required. All materials are provided, but you're welcome to bring any old jeans to cut up and add to your flowers.
Upcycle Newcastle used this technique in the creation of two of their garments in the ReFashionista 2025 event at the Museum. These garments will be on display during this workshop, for you to see in detail.
