Cultural Resurgence
Saturday 24 October – Sunday 22 November 2026
10am – 5pm
Miti Nukang’s annual Cultural Resurgence exhibition, showcasing artworks made using traditional Aboriginal techniques, returns to Newcastle Museum.
This year’s artworks have been created by students and community members from across the region who have all been a part of cultural enrichment programs from Miti Nukang which culminate in the exhibition.
The exhibition is a timely reminder for everyone who attends that Australia has one of the oldest cultures in the world and these traditional practices showcase techniques handed down for many generations.
Resurgence programs are important for Aboriginal people to connect with culture but also for all Australians to learn more about ancient Aboriginal culture.
Cultural Resurgence is proudly supported by Nova for Women and Children.
Newcastle Museum is supported by Create NSW.
