Hollywood: A Community Remembers Its Past

Saturday 23 November 2024
11am - 12:30pm
1 hour 30 minutes
Newcastle Museum will screen video interviews with community members who have a connection to the history of Hollywood, an unofficial “suburb” of Newcastle established just outside Jesmond during the Great Depression of the 1920s and 1930s.

These interviews were developed by Newcastle Museum with Transport for NSW and produced and directed by Toybox Media as part of the A Place Called Hollywood exhibition project.

The short screening will be followed by a panel discussion that considers the value of remembering community stories and the (recent) past.
