This guided tour explores a changing landscape in the Honeysuckle area over the past 180 years or so.  The former railway and port activities along the Throsby Creek shore, now redeveloped for modern recreational, commercial and residential uses leaves visible clues of what used to exist here.  Stories of this transformation may surprise some visitors who only know Honeysuckle as it looks today.

The tour covers 2.3km of easy level walking from (and return to) Newcastle Museum over 1.5 hours.  Old photos will be shown and discussion encouraged. The tour is well suited for local Newcastle residents, newcomers, visitors and all ages. In case of inclement weather on the day, an indoor event at the Museum will take its place.
