Canoe Launch in the Hunter River
Location:
Carrington Boat Ramp, Tully Street, Carrington.
Time: 11am-1pm
Luke Russell, local Gringai / Worimai man, with his crew, recently built a traditional bark canoe at the Museum from locally and ethically sourced stringy bark. The practice of building a canoe is called Kuueeyung.
The canoe will be launched and paddled in the Hunter River at Carrington Boat Ramp. Come and be part of the maiden voyage and meet Luke who will continue to share his knowledge of his practice.
