Porsche in Motion
7 Dec - 10 Dec 2017
10am - 5pm
Porsche Cars Australia (PCA) is an innovative mobile experience that takes the iconic sports car brand “on the road”, travelling to locations not currently home to a Porsche Centre.
The “Porsche in Motion” experiential roadshow will set up in selected destinations along Australia’s East Coast from now until the end of the year, and into 2018.
Porsche in Motion previewed at the Main Street Mornington Festival in Victoria on Sunday October 15 where visitors had the opportunity for an up close and personal Porsche experience with an extensive fleet of modern and iconic Porsches on display, and a special appearance from Porsche racing legend Jim Richards.
Porsche in Motion consists of two locally designed and built mobile trailers or “pods” – a brand experience pod and a pop-up showroom pod. The custom crafted pods reflect the engineering know-how synonymous with Porsche and will provide prospective Porsche customers and fans of the German marque with a similar premium experience found in a Porsche Centre. Each pod is 10 metres long and three metres high, extending to over five metres in height when opened for activation via a custom hydraulic system.
The brand pod unlocks the fascination of Porsche’s heritage, Intelligent Performance philosophy and the future of the sports car. Equipped with LED screens, virtual reality stations, sound and vision touchscreen consoles and Porsche Driver’s Selection display, the pod offers a hands-on personal experience of Porsche.
Porsche’s new car range will be the focus for the showroom pod, with potential customers having the opportunity to configure their own Porsche via the ‘fitting lounge’ and Porsche Car Configurator.
The two pods will be towed around Australia by a pair of Porsche’s acclaimed 283 kW (385 hp) Cayenne S Diesel Platinum Edition SUVs, with a towing capacity of 3,500 tonnes.
“This is an exciting initiative from Porsche Cars Australia, one that enables us to share our brand with audiences not close to a Porsche showroom. The concept allows us to reach a new audience through an innovative and complete brand experience,” says PCA CEO and Managing Director, Sam Curtis.
“Porsche in Motion features all the key elements of an official Porsche Centre; from the display of selected new models to heritage and brand touch points to discover the Porsche DNA”.
Porsche in Motion also has a fleet of the latest Porsche models available for test drive for selected prospective customers.
Porsche in Motion will visit the following locations in 2017:
Wednesday 1 November to Sunday 5 November – Byron At Byron Resort & Spa
Friday 24 November to Sunday 26 November – Geelong Revival Motoring Festival
Thursday 7 December to Sunday 10 December – Newcastle Museum Forecourt
2018 dates and locations will be announced in due course.
