LEGO Newy 2013

The wild and wacky LEGO competition is back! And this time it's all about sport...
Novocastrians love their sport. From rugby to surfing, cricket to croquet, netball to ten pin bowling, we are a sporting city. Imagine how much inspiration that is for Newcastle Museum’s LEGO Newy 2013 competition!
LEGO Newy 2013 is all about sport – and we are calling all LEGO lovers to build a Newcastle sporting icon from LEGO. The competition is open to anyone under 15 years of age.
Winners will be on display at Newcastle Museum from Thursday 1 August to Thursday 31 October.

Simply print off the entry form and submit it by 12 July.
Competition schedule:
- Competition opens 1 July 2013
- Entry forms due by COB Friday 12 July 2013
- Delivery of works to Newcastle Museum: 3.30 – 4.30pm, Wednesday 31 July 2013
- Judging at Newcastle Museum: 4.30pm, Wednesday 31 July 2013
- Collection of works : 5.00pm, Wednesday 31 July 2013
- Winners displayed Thursday 1 August – Thursday 31 October
- Collection of winning works: By Saturday 10 August
Judging:
The competition will be judged by a panel of four independent judges, including a Knights and Jets player. All entries accepted for submission will be judged.
The winner will reeive a family pass to see the Knights v Melbourne Storm later in the year.
Selection criteria includes: creativity, accuracy of representation and ‘sportiness’.
Entry conditions:
The competition is open to young people under 15 years of age.
- Entries must not exceed: Height max 60cm; width max: 110cm; depth max 35cm.
- Entrants must agree to have their work brought to Newcastle Museum for judging from 10am to 5pm, 10 November 2012
- Winners must agree to display their works in the LEGO Newey exhibition from 20 November to 16 December 2012.
- All LEGO will be returned to entrants.
- Entrants must give permission to have their entries photographed and used for publicity purposes.
