Iceberg

During 12 days in November 2014, one determined woman - Kirrily Dear - ran 860km through regional NSW during the hottest November in 57 years.

Covering up to 93km in a day, with 55 degree heat radiating from the melting tar on the road, Kirrily's sole purpose was to get people talking about the steps they can take to end domestic violence.

During the run a production crew volunteered their time to capture the event as a momento of the achievement. What happened after that took a life of it's own as the stories of domestic violence in those communities bubbled to the surface and the enormity of the ICEBERG that is domestic violence reared it's head.

ICEBERG The Documentary explores the deep impact of domestic violence in our community and shows how one woman putting one foot in front of the other can start the conversations that will bring about change.

Produced locally in Newcastle by THIRTY3SOUTH Films, ICEBERG launches with a Directors screening in association with Newcastle Museum.
