Newcastle 2020
The Newcastle 2020 Art Exhibition is giving the Newcastle creative community the outlet to portray their vision for the future of our CBD.
Using their skills, be it art, graphic design, architecture, photography or event creation, we want them to unleash their creative self into the potential of Hunter Street, re-designing or re-creating certain precincts.
Newcastle 2020 is a Council funded community initiative, being run with the sole aim of giving the community the opportunity to participate in the revitalisation of Hunter Street.
The competition closes 14 September. Entry details are available on the exhibition website at: www.newcastle2020.com
Prizes include a $1000 cash prize for the best Overall Visionary Focused work, as well as $500 cash prizes for Professional’s Choice, Pride of Place Prize, People’s Choice and the Precinct Focused Temporary Artwork/Event. $250 cash prizes will be given to two Highly Commended works.
Awards will be given at the Black Tie awards evening on October 17 with more information on the evening found at the Newcastle2020 website.
Twenty-eight of the best works will be chosen from all entries to be displayed within Newcastle Museum’s "A Newcastle Story". The chosen temporary artwork or event will also be installed at a later date.
