Story Hunter: Historical Fiction Day - 1910s

After the sell-out success of our Historical Fiction workshop at this year's Newcastle Writers Festival, the team are excited to announce a new date!
Join the festival’s dynamic Story Hunter program for an all-day creative writing workshop at Newcastle Museum. Focusing on objects and ideas from the period of 1910-1920 in Australia, students will interact with Museum objects and learn how to blend historical settings with their own imagination to create a short story.
This workshop is designed for high potential and passionate young writers in Stage 3 (Years 5 and 6). The experienced writers and educators from Story Hunter have joined forces with the expert historians and curators at Newcastle Museum to make this a hands-on, informative day where our next generation of writers will have the opportunity to make their stories shine.
Bookings essential
Schools are encouraged to send a small group with a supervising teacher. Tickets are currently capped at 12 per school to ensure more schools have the opportunity to attend, however, additional students may be added to the waiting list on request - please contact Emma at [email protected] for more information.
Cancellations after 21 May are not eligible for a refund.
