The model is scratch built in timber, plank on frame, from drawings and profiles sourced from photos and data from the internet. Mllder would not supply any information so the model was based on photos of the real yacht.
Propulsion via twin screws driven by two “COMO” motors at 6,000 RPM using 2 NiMH, 7 to 8 Ah capacity, batteries in parallel driving two ESCs.

The model was built from a kit available through Premiership Models, however more detailed drawings of the superstructure were made by the builder.
The model has 15V DC electric motor driving a 45mm diameter 3 bladed prop giving it a scale speed of approximately 10 knots. The main power supply is two 7.2V 5Ah NiMH (nickel metal hydride) batteries connected in parallel.
Steering is connected to a single servo.
Also fitted with RC operative navigation and wheelhouse (bridge) lighting via a 6V 1.8Ah NiMH battery.
It is a copy of the real vessel timber built American steam powered harbour tug, refitted in a company colour scheme and logos.

The model is an Atlantic tuna fishing trawler, the kit is sold as a display unit only. Modifications were needed to make it an RC operational model.

Bob usually calls his models after his grandchildren so there was no actual Pilot Boat Brodie. Pilot Boat Brodie was made from the Billings Kit Samson II which was freelance design. The boat was made to look like a pilot boat near where Brodie was living at the time.
