The Newcastle Museum is located at 6 Workshop Way, Newcastle, only a short walk to the Honeysuckle Foreshore and nearby public transport. 

There are two main entrances to Newcastle Museum, one via Workshop Way, right next to the big red hook and one via Museum Park accessible via Wright Lane or Hunter Street. Both entrances are wheelchair accessible.

Bike racks are available at the Museum Park and Workshop Way Museum entrances.
Bus zone located on Wright Lane near the Museum's Schools Entrance. This is a drop-off zone only and not available for coach or bus parking.
Parking is available at Wright Lane car park. Use the EasyPark app to pay. For parking options, visit the City of Newcastle website.
There are several ways to reach Newcastle Museum: 

Bus 

Hunter Bus Network routes 11, 13, and 23 stop on King Street. Closest stops: 
  • University House (Stop 230048) 
  • King St after Auckland St (Stop 230049) 

Train 

The Central Coast & Newcastle Line runs from Sydney Central Station to Newcastle Interchange. From there, take the light rail to the Museum. 

Light Rail 

Runs between Newcastle Interchange and Newcastle Beach. 
  • Operates daily: 5am – 1am 
  • Get off at Civic Station for the Museum. 

Ferry 

The ferry connects Stockton to the city Centre. From there, take the light rail to the Museum.
