Circle

05 Aug 2016 - 30 Oct 2016

Each year, Bar-tailed Godwits undertake the longest unbroken migration of any animal when they fly from their breeding grounds in Alaska to Australia and New Zealand. They follow invisible pathways in the sky, which they have followed for thousands of years. To create Circle, Jeannie journeyed across the globe to observe Godwits – to the wild, remote landscapes of Alaska and then to China and South Korea.

Through stunning, exquisitely detailed and textured collages, Jeannie follows the Godwit's remarkable flight as it comes full circle.

This beautiful exhibition, developed in collaboration with Jeannie by Newcastle Museum, will follow the migratory path of the Godwits, visiting museums and galleries across Australia and the world.
