Program of events

All day - Craft activities with an Aussie twist!

All day - Relive the glory of the Sydney Olympics when you stand on one of the original Olympic metal podiums and pose like a winner!

All day - Touch and feel taxidermied Australian animals

African Dance 

The Hunter African Communities Council , will be running the African Dance workshop. There will be a African Drumming performance by the students of Islington Public School. There will a dance performance by local African students of Refugee background.

The African and Modern Dance workshop will be facilitated by Lija Turner-Carroll. She teaches dance locally at Pivot Studio’s. This workshop will offer an amazing to explore African, Afro Fusion and modern dance.

The Hunter African Communities Council creates a platform for  community art programs,  for local African youth to join in friendship with indigenous performers and local talent. To  showcase the rich African cultural heritage,  traditions and contributing to promoting social cohesion, respect and tolerance in the Hunter Region.
